A deck is one of the more visible home projects you will take on, and also one where code requirements, material choice, and the depth of the footings matter as much as the finished look. This guide covers the decisions worth understanding before you start collecting quotes from deck builders.

Pressure-treated wood or composite: the real trade-offs
